About Oahu Head Start

Our Mission
Our Vision
Our Values
We are family! We facilitate quality, comprehensive services for families. We provide high quality early childhood education to our children. We advocate, motivate, and empower people to their fullest potential in becoming contributors and providers for the community.
Families will leave our program with the knowledge, skill and resources needed to realize their dreams.
Oahu Head Start is committed to empowering and supporting positive growth in its clients and employees, as every individual has fundamental worth. We value integrity, honesty, social justice, respect for individuals and diverse populations, and life-long learning for personal and professional growth.

Who we are? The Oahu Head Start program has adopted a Japanese motto "Kodomo no Tame ni", for the sake of the children, to exemplify the "heart" of our program. All staff members contribute in some way, directly or indirectly to foster social competence in each child and to enhance the lives of families. These goals are achieved through various services and education programs we provide to our children and families. Learn more about the services that we provide to you and your child.

What do we do? Head Start services are provided through part-day and full-day center-based programs, home-based programs, and Family Child Care Homes (FCCH). Visit our "Programs" page to find out more about these program options.

Where can you find us? There are 76+ Head Start classrooms, 6 home-based programs, and 14 Family Child Care Homes programs located throughout Oahu to serve you. All programs follow policies and regulations of the National Head Start Performance Standards and the State Department of Human Services licenses all classrooms. Visit our "Locations" page to find out where the various programs are located.
